A balance sitting here belongs to the player holding it, and an open pool belongs to the owner who funded it until somebody wins it. Neither is income, and most of what arrives in the account is one or the other — which is the part a bank statement cannot show.

So the totals above can be checked rather than believed. Nobody is named — not the owner who funded a pool, not the player who won it.

Why the number cannot run away

An owner buys an event and names a budget. Our fee comes off it, and what remains is the prize pool — there is no other source of prize money on this site, and no way to add to a pool after the fact. When somebody wins, the award is clamped to what that pool has left, and a database rule refuses the write if it would go under.

So an unfunded event cannot pay cash at all. It pays in ichor and standing, which are earned by playing and cannot be bought, sold or withdrawn. That is the difference between a prize we are holding for you and a promise we are making.

Figures come from this application’s own records and are counted when you load the page. They are not audited accounts, and how any of it is treated on a tax return is a question for an accountant rather than for this page.
