Expeditions: free, sponsored and legacy alliances

Reviewed 2026-10-11 · Current live features; saved contest terms take priority.

Follow a shared expedition on its participating exchanges; each expedition has its own rules.

Choose an expedition

Open Expeditions or Today’s events. The list shows participating exchanges, the boss, its tier, dates and rewards. The shared main Hunt continues separately. Expedition progress counts only on its confirmed hosts while that expedition is running.

Free boss expeditions

Two to five approved, connected exchanges can host without Boss Tokens. The organizer chooses a boss, tier and future start day; partners apply or accept an invitation and confirm participation before the start. The encounter ends when its boss is defeated or its 72-hour window expires.

A host may promise its own surf, banner or text advertising credits, with a goal and limited claim places shown on the expedition. These are host-issued credits, not cash. Meeting a goal lets you claim a voucher on Colossari; redeem it through the host’s instructions. Colossari does not automatically edit that exchange’s credit balance. Ten validated credited views on each of two confirmed hosts qualify an eligible member to claim 40 ichor once. Check the claim screen and availability; a single host alone does not qualify for the two-host ichor reward.

Sponsored boss expeditions

Surfers join free. Each participating exchange pays the same tier cost: Boss Tokens are $5 each, and tiers 1–4 use 2, 3, 4 or 6 tokens per host ($10, $15, $20 or $30). Forty percent of redeemed host funding backs the cash pool. Two to five funded hosts must be ready at the selected start; the encounter lasts until defeat or its 72-hour deadline.

Cash ranking uses validated credited views on expedition hosts, not raw boss damage. Ten eligible views qualify a surfer, and at least two qualifiers are required for an award. Hosts choose either 50% equal participation / 50% top-ten leaderboard, or a leaderboard-only split with 3–15 places. The published expedition locks that choice. Settlement checks active, verified, non-test accounts and unresolved review flags. The expedition page shows its eligibility and any funding hold. Optional host-credit vouchers follow their separate displayed goals. Check the expedition’s saved terms before surfing.

Older invitation alliances

Legacy Port Alliances still track the accepted two-exchange credited-view goal under their original seven-day rules. Those older records do not automatically acquire a new cash pool or boss reward. Automatic Active Surfer Rewards cross-promotion import and its calendar have been retired; an ASR promotion does not create a Colossari expedition.

For hosts

Only exchange owners can create, approve and fund hosts or promise their own advertising credits. Use your expedition controls to review participation and cancellation terms before confirming. Changes do not require Colossari to scan partner files or ASR tables during surfing.
